Dave-O is a living West Virginia glass legend. He captained a shop in Blenko during through highest productivity years, running a tight ship, and usually relied upon to blown the biggest pieces. His design work and mold sensibility was leveraged at Blenko in designs like his Mardi Gras line, where he brought big, bold dollops of color into the Blenko vernacular. His own studio’s glass is cherished by the folks who shopped there over the years, and Mr. Osburn is responsible for a lot of really great WV glass memories.

Mr. Osburn has blown glass for decades at Blenko Glass Company in Milton, WV, as well as at Simon Pearce, and in his own studio in the early 2000s, Osburn’s Modern Glass, in the premises of the former Gibson Glass of Milton.

Osburn’s glass bears hallmarks from all of the places he’s worked! He has an affinity for mold-blown and altered pieces, and lives by the motto that each mold should make more than one design. He’s an innovator and a creative adapter!

Dave-O can be seen blowing glass at Marrowbone on special events, some weekends, and during his dedicated studio hours.

Each piece made by Mr. Osburn will be signed by Mr. Osburn himself!
