Who we are
Marrowbone Glassworks is a passion project of a couple of pirate exiles from West Virginia’s last handblown glass tableware factory. Marrowbone Glassworks is a public-facing glassblowing studio and retail shop (online and in-person in Huntington, WV) - where the whole point is to reverse the narrative of the death of glass in Appalachia. This region, which once had more than 500 glass factories, has very few left, but we reject the idea that the glory days of West Virginian handmade glass are in the past.
Marrowbone Glassworks is Huntington, WV’s first public-facing glassblowing studio, where Appalachian glass artists work, Appalachian glass artistry is fostered, and the public can get awesome, hands-on experiences with hot glass.
Marrowbone Glassworks designs contemporary, sophisticated, and witty glass decor and tableware in small batches made in America by Appalachian artisans continuing a 150-year-long tradition.
